Zebra with a Tortilis Tree
The tortilis acacia tree is well known in the more arid regions of southern Kenya. Zebras are herd animals so it’s harder to spot a solitary one. Being extremely skittish, they run away when they see a vehicle approach. One day, on the way to the Kitirua Conservancy, we came across this lone zebra which stopped and watched as our jeep approached, and made no attempt to bolt, so I decided to photograph him, especially since he was by an iconic tortilis tree.
